TLFG: 22 December 2025 - 4 January 2026

Greetings one and all and welcome to TLFG's Christmas and New Year Special - I can't believe it's that time of year again.

Below you will find match maps for the next two weeks showing where to find all the men's matches in the top 11 levels of the game and all the women's ones in the top eight.

At the moment I'm on a mini break with my kids in Bristol so I haven't had time to write any previews but I'll try and add some over the next few days.

Interestingly, the games are quite spread out with only a few leagues having games on Boxing Day whilst others are only playing on weekends as usual.

Sunrise at Craven Cottage on Christmas Day

As a railway employee, I'm going to be working for most of the next two weeks but I hope to see a game on the 26th and something early in the New Year.

I also hope to do a parkrun on Christmas Day - Fulham Palace, in the shadow of Craven Cottage, is looking like the favourite at the moment.

Looking beyond that into mid-January, my Bundesliga break in Germany is all booked with tickets for Borussia Dortmund v Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg v St Pauli both secured so I'm looking forward to that a lot.

Where will you be headed?

Please be aware that public transport over the Christmas period is often significantly disrupted. I work for South Western Railway and there's no service between Waterloo and Clapham Junction for several days around this time which could cause a few logistical challenges for some.

Anyway, I need to check out of my hotel and get to the station for the train back to London -  have a great festive period and catch up with you all again in the New Year.

THE WEEK AHEAD

The highlights of the next two weeks include games in the Premier League, EFL, National League and loads of other matches in our local non-league and women's competitions.

As always, please make sure you check with clubs before you travel just in case a game has been called off or the venue or kick-off time has changed - this is highly possible for some of the lower non-league clubs. Also, please let me know if anything is wrong or missing.

Details on all of this week's games can be found on the following match maps. If you've never used them before, please note that when there is more than one match at a specific ground you'll only be able to see individual match pins if you zoom right in. If you don't, the pins obscure each other and you might miss them. To avoid this, you can also scroll down the list of games on the drop down menu at the top of the map page to make sure you get all the information. Games are listed from top to bottom in date order so Monday's games (yellow pin) will appear first and Sunday's (orange pin) last. Games are also ranked in terms of status so the higher the division, the higher up the list they will appear on each day.
Also if you're unfamiliar with the English league structure I indicate the level at which an individual league sits in the national 'pyramid' with the Premier League at the top (Level 1) and various minor leagues at the bottom (Level 10). Typically a top level game will see crowds of anywhere between 20,000-60,000. These figures will gradually decline as you go down the leagues until you get to Levels 8-10 where attendances of 150 or less are most common.

It should also be noted that the top four levels are for fully professional teams. Level 5 has a mixture of professional and semi-professional teams, while Levels 6-10 will see most players paid but it will vary from no more than travel expenses at the bottom, right up to several hundred pounds a week at the top.

TLFG DAILY DIGEST
In the following section, I list what are in my opinion the most notable games of the week and give some brief reasons for my choice. Check the maps above for kick-off times, ticket info and directions.

Friday 26 December

Championship
Millwall v Ipswich Town @1pm - the biggest game on Boxing Day would appear to be this clash of two of the top six in the second tier. The Lions are having a good season but are currently on a three game winless run - if they'd won them they'd be second. The visitors got relegated from the Premier League in May but are firmly in contention to go straight back up. The historic head-to-head record between these two is very close and this could go either way. Tickets have sold out but hospitality is available from £200

League One
AFC Wimbledon v Stevenage @3pm - it seems no time since the Dons were up in the top six and looking like play-off contenders but in recent weeks it's gone a bit wrong. Seven games without a win, the south-London club are down to 14th and significantly closer to the relegation zone than the leading group. The away side are very much part of this elite group. Fourth but with games in hand on all those above them, they should provide tough opposition. This match has sold out too

National League
Sutton United v Aldershot Town @3pm - with tickets few and far between for the matches above, non-league football would appear to be your best option. Elsewhere in south London, we've got an important game at the wrong end of the table in the fifth tier. The U's sit just above the relegation zone whilst the Shots are a point from safety so there's plenty at stake. Tickets
Wealdstone v Boreham Wood @3pm - there's a derby of sorts at Grosvenor Vale between two of this division's TLFG clubs. Although they're two of the smallest clubs at this level, both are punching above their weight with the Stones just a win away from a place in the top seven. The Wood are in even more remarkable form and are one of at least five clubs who could consider themselves in the title race. Tickets

National League South
Dagenham & Redbridge v Hornchurch @1pm - in the sixth tier we've got a cracking looking east London derby to look forward to. At least two divisions have separated these clubs for most of their existences but not any more. With the Daggers' fortunes ailing in recent years and the Urchins on the up, these two are now at the same level. Not only that but it's Hornchurch who are top and Dagenham who've been trying to fight off another relegation. With former England striker Andy Carroll up front, the hosts have hit some great form and are now safely in midtable. Tickets
Enfield Town v Chelmsford City @3pm - unbeaten in four, the struggling Towners are now only a point from safety. In their most recent game, they held leaders Hornchurch to a 2-2 draw and would've won if they hadn't conceded an injury-time goal. Midtable Chelmsford had a brilliant run to the FA Cup Second Round but have lost four of their last five league games and could be there for the taking. Tickets
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday 27 December

Premier League
Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion @3pm - the Gunners have come close in recent years but they haven't won the title since 2004. They're in pole position again as we approach the end of 2025 but the pressure is starting to pile on as a resurgent Manchester City are in great form and just two points behind. Brighton are in midtable, winless in four and must be beaten. Tickets have sold out but hospitality is available from £895
Brentford v AFC Bournemouth @3pm - in terms of attendance and stadium size, these are the two smallest clubs in the Premier League. That should make them strong contenders for relegation but both are well clear of the bottom three. Although both are comfortably in midtable, both are in the bottom six in the form table with the Cherries going through a particularly lamentable patch which has seen them fall from Champions League contention all the way down to 15th. The Bees are unbeaten in eight against Bournemouth and, on paper, appear to be favourites again. Tickets are only available to members and hospitality has sold out
West Ham United v Fulham @3pm - the only top-flight match with regular tickets available is this derby at the London Stadium. Without a win since the beginning of November, things are looking a bit bleak for the Hammers. In the bottom three and five points adrift of safety, they need to start winning fast. A couple of weeks ago, things were looking a bit iffy for the Cottagers too but back-to-back wins over Burnley and Nottingham Forest have given them a 10-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone. However, east London isn't a happy hunting ground for Fulham and they've lost on six of their last seven visits. Tickets
Chelsea v Aston Villa @530pm - in the day's late game, two of the top four meet at Stamford Bridge for what could be a thrilling contest. Club World Cup winners Chelsea looked as if they could challenge for the title earlier in the season and although still in the top group of clubs, some silly results have left them 10 points off the pace. Villa began the season poorly, leading some fans to call for boss Unai Emery's head. Now with nine wins from 10 games, they're top of the form table and only three points behind leaders Arsenal and he's the best manager ever! Tickets have sold out but hospitality is available from £745

Isthmian League Premier
Cray Wanderers v Cray Valley PM @3pm - with the EFL and National League playing on Boxing Day, most of Saturday's games will be in the seventh tier and below. Usually it's all about derbies at this time of year so I won't be able to mention them all but this one in south London grabbed my eye straight away. If you're new to football in London or are just visiting, then going to watch the capital's oldest club is always worth doing. Founded in 1860, Cray Wanderers are now playing at a new stadium and are in the top six - win here and they could go into the top four. CVPM aren't the side they were last year and are down in midtable but there should still be a decent crowd. To boost attendance even more, EFL club season-ticket holders will get in for free and regulars can bring a friend for £5. Tickets

Southern League Premier South
Chertsey Town v Walton & Hersham @3pm - elsewhere in the seventh tier there's a spicy looking derby on the south-west side of TLFG's catchment area. Four wins on the bounce have propelled the Curfews up to seventh and back into play-off contention but they face the toughest possible test on Saturday. The Swans are eight points clear at the top and haven't lost a league game since August. They also thrashed National League side Sutton United 4-1 in the FA Trophy two weeks ago. Games between these two have the potential to draw four-figure crowds so there should be a decent atmosphere. Tickets

Isthmian League South East
AFC Whyteleafe v AFC Croydon Athletic @3pm - although there are numerous derbies at this level on Saturday, the standout game in the eighth tier is this match at Church Road. Not only is this a derby but it sees third welcome second for what should be an intriguing contest. The Leafe are two points behind the Rams but have a game in hand so there's plenty at stake. Tickets

Essex Senior League
Barking v Ilford @3pm - again, the ninth tier is littered with local derbies so pretty much every game at this level should be worth a watch. I've gone for this one as it features two of the top six in this division. Coming from neighbouring areas in east London, this match at Mayesbrook Park is another to really standout this weekend. The hosts have been among the frontrunners since coming down from the Isthmian League in 2022. The real story here though is Ilford. The Foxes rarely finish in the top half so to find them in sixth is very unusual - a win here and they could go third. Tickets are £10 on the gate

CCL Division 1
PFC Victoria London v Brook House @3pm - in the 10th tier there are two games which are both huge and I can't decide between so I'm going to mention them both. First up is this match in west London. PFC are a club with their roots in the capital's Polish community and they groundshare at Ashford Town's stadium just to the south of Heathrow Airport. This is only their second season in senior football and after finishing a creditable 12th last season, they're top coming into this. Facing them on Saturday, are a side who hail from Hayes just to the north of the airport. The Brook are three points behind in fourth but have four games in hand. They also have the league's top scorer Trey Pender-Brown who has scored 33 goals in 25 appearances this season and is causing quite a bit of interest online. Getting ticket info is hard but it shouldn't be more than £8

ECL Division 1 South
Newbury Forest v Lymore Gardens @3pm - this game on the north-east side of town is arguably even bigger. Forest are currently top and Lymore Gardens are fourth. There are nine points between them but Gardens have four games in hand. Not only that but the sides both groundshare at Redbridge's stadium next to Barkingside Tube station. A win for the 'hosts' will really boost their title hopes. Tickets shouldn't be more than £8
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday 28 December

Premier League
Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur @430pm - with the women's clubs on a short winter break, this is the only match in London on Sunday. The Eagles took Arsenal all the way to penalties in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday before eventually going out. Although generally having another positive season, three defeats from five in the league mean they've slipped to eighth. Spurs boss Thomas Frank would kill for that kind of form right now. The north London club have only managed two wins from 10 and now only goal difference is keeping them out of the bottom six. Tickets are only available to members and hospitality is unavailable
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday 29 December

Championship
Millwall v Bristol City @745pm - the EFL returns with a full round of games on Monday night. The Lions, after a hard fought 0-0 draw with Ipswich on Boxing Day, face another one of the top six here. The Robins' win at West Brom on Friday edged them just ahead of Millwall on goal difference. The sides last played just over three weeks ago and it was the London club who came away from Ashton Gate with all three points after a 1-0 win. Tickets

League One
AFC Wimbledon v Exeter City @745pm - a sell-out crowd saw the Dons hold high-flying Stevenage to a 0-0 draw on Boxing Day. Although a decent result, it extended their winless run to eight games. The Grecians are in the bottom three but make the long journey up from Devon having won two of their last four, with one of those wins coming against Wimbledon. Tickets

CCL Premier South
Sutton Common Rovers v Horley Town @745pm - SCR suffered relegation from the Isthmian League last season and have shown few signs of coming straight back up. However, a win in this game in hand will lift them to eighth, cutting the gap on the top five to six points. Horley are one point above them so this could be a tight midtable affair. This is being played at Carshalton Athletic. Tickets are £10 on the gate

ECL Division 1 South
Barkingside v Clapton CFC @745pm - this season has been a real struggle for the 'Side. Second bottom and six points adrift of safety, they've played more games than most of those around them too. In this derby, they face a CCFC side who are challenging for the play-offs. Without a game on Saturday, they slipped out of the leading group as Coggeshall Town won. Victory here will see them leap up to third. Tickets should be around £7 on the gate
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuesday 30 December

Premier League
Arsenal v Aston Villa @815pm - arguably the game of the week takes place on Tuesday night at the Emirates as the leaders take on the side three points behind them in third. The Gunners came through Saturday's Brighton test with three points to keep themselves just ahead of Manchester City and Villa who both refused to stop winning. With eight consecutive wins, the Birmingham club are top of the Premier League form table and pose a real threat to the Gunners. This match also marks the return of former Arsenal boss Unai Emery who will once again have a point to prove after a disappointing time in north London. Tickets are only available to members but hospitality is available from £795
Chelsea v AFC Bournemouth @730pm - the Blues' slim hopes of a title challenge near enough ended at the weekend when they became Villa's latest victims. The 2-1 home defeat left them 13 points behind Arsenal. It also means that they've now only won one of their last six. Talking of bad form though, it doesn't get much worse than Bournemouth's. Winless in nine, the Dorset club got stuffed 4-1 at Brentford in their last game. They did, however, draw 0-0 with Chelsea at the start of the month but I think they'll do well to repeat that here. Tickets have sold out but hospitality is available from £375
West Ham United v Brighton & Hove Albion @730pm - another club who can't buy a win at the moment are West Ham. A slender 1-0 derby loss to Fulham on Saturday means they're still marooned in the bottom three and five points adrift of safety. Brighton aren't in the best shape either with only two points accrued so far in December. However, they've never lost at the London Stadium. Their last away defeat to the Hammers was at Upton Park in 2012. Tickets

National League
Boreham Wood v Solihull Moors @745pm - The Wood moved up to second after trouncing local rivals Wealdstone 4-0 on Boxing Day. With leaders Rochdale two points clear but with two games in hand, it will take something special to finish ahead of them. However, if they win this and Dale drop points against Hartlepool then they will go top at least temporarily. When it comes to trouncing, Solihull enjoyed an even bigger one on Friday, thrashing Tamworth 7-1. They're now fourth in the form table and are climbing back into play-off contention. They're also unbeaten in eight against against Boreham Wood. Tickets

National League South
Hornchurch v Maidstone United @745pm - the Urchins won their big Boxing Day derby at Dagenham & Redbridge to stay top, just one point ahead of in-form Worthing. Here they host, in terms of attendance, one of the biggest clubs in the division. The Stones are in the play-off places too so backed by a sizeable away following, they should provide a decent challenge. Tickets

CCL Division 1
London Samurai Rovers v Langley @745pm - the hosts, who groundshare at Hanworth Villa, have only been playing senior football since 2021 and for most of that time have found things a bit of a struggle. They did, however, finish third in 2022/23 scoring 109 goals in 40 games but lost to Rayners Lane in the play-offs. Langley also made the play-offs that year but also lost to the Lane in the final. LSR had looked like pushing for the play-offs again this time but a five game winless run is threatening to derail that. After a slow start, the visitors are now hitting form and with five wins on the bounce are climbing the table rapidly. I haven't seen any prices for this game but admission earlier in the season was £6
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday 1 January

Premier League
Crystal Palace v Fulham @530pm - Sunday's disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Spurs extended the Eagles' losing run to three games, a result which saw them slip into the bottom half. With five wins from seven, the Cottagers are powering up the table and are now on level points with Palace, something which looked unlikely to happen less than a month ago. Fulham's last defeat actually came against Oliver Glasner's side in the reverse fixture so if anyone knows how to defeat the club from SW6, it's them.Tickets are only available to members but hospitality is available from £378
Brentford v Tottenham Hotspur @8pm - former Bees boss Thomas Frank begins 2026 with a return to the club which made his name. The summer move to N17 was supposed to represent a big step up the career ladder but it's Brentford who are ahead coming into this. Although the gap is only one point, when you consider the level of resources and size of fan base that both teams have, fledgling Bees boss Keith Andrews has achieved way more. Despite this, Brentford's last defeat came against Spurs in early December so it should be close again. Tickets are only available to members and hospitality has sold out

Championship
Charlton Athletic v Coventry City @3pm - with tickets for Premier League games at a premium, there's a fine selection of EFL games for you to choose from instead. The Addicks made a bright start but with only two wins from 10 games, they're now in the bottom five. On NYD they welcome the leaders for what should be an incredibly tough game. Eight points clear at the top, Frank Lampard's side suffered their first home defeat of the season against Ipswich on Monday and will no doubt want to bounce back straight away. Tickets
QPR v Norwich City @3pm - the R's are at their frustratingly most inconsistent at the moment. Thrilling at home and pretty underwhelming away. Thankfully this at Loftus Road so their chances of beating one of the division's strugglers looks pretty good. However, as most QPR fans know, Norwich are exactly the sort of team that will cause them problems. The reverse fixture in November provided the Canaries with their first home win of the season and they've won two more games since. Tickets
Watford v Birmingham City @3pm - the Hornets have only lost three of the 15 games since Javi Gracia returned to the manager's job in October. Monday's win at Norwich took them into the top six, possibly for the first time this season, to confirm the magnificent progress they've made in recent months. The same cannot be said for big-spending Birmingham who are now six without a win and down to 15th. With its punishing schedule, this division is famously brutal but they're still closer to the top six than the bottom three - just. Tickets

League One
Leyton Orient v AFC Wimbledon @3pm - it's derby day in the third tier with the division's two London clubs meeting at Brisbane Road. Level on points in lower midtable, there's little to choose between them. The O's are in significantly better form though and start as favourites in my book. Since the Dons re-formed as AFC Wimbledon, there haven't been that many games between them and they've yet to win at this venue.  Tickets

League Two
Barnet v Crawley Town @3pm - with eight wins, eight draws and seven defeats, the Bees' are more than holding their own on their return to the EFL. In the top half and six points adrift of the play-off places, it's going pretty well. It's a different story for Crawley. The Sussex club are in the bottom five and only two points above the relegation zone. Monday's loss to Bromley made it eight without a win - three points for Barnet looks like the most likely outcome. Tickets
Bromley v Newport County @3pm - one of the stories of the season must be the rise of the Ravens to the top of League Two. Their win at Crawley and Walsall's loss to Oldham saw them reach the summit for the first time. With nine wins from their last ten league games, they're now two points clear of Swindon Town and the aforementioned Saddlers. Welsh club Newport have had a season to forget but the green shoots of recovery may be starting to appear after their 2-0 win over Crewe on Monday. It lifted them off the bottom and they're now only a point adrift of safety. Tickets
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday 2 January

Isthmian League Premier
Aveley v Canvey Island @745pm - topping the bill on Friday is this Essex derby at Parkside. The Millers are on amazing unbeaten run in the league which stretches back to 15 September when they lost to top club Folkestone. Despite this, they're still sitting just outside the play-off places but have games in hand on all of those above them as they bid to make a quick return to the NLS. It's a different story for the Gulls though who are in the bottom three and seven points adrift of safety. Tickets are £14 on the gate

CCL Premier North
Hilltop v North Leigh @745pm - in the ninth tier, the hosts will move back into the play-off places if they can beat the Millers. The Oxfordshire club are in the bottom four and, on paper, should be beaten. However, Hilltop are in poor form and might come unstuck if they're not careful. Admission is usually around £8 at this level

ECL Division 1 South
Barkingside v Hutton @745pm - with only three wins from 24 games  the 'Side are in real trouble. Second from bottom and six points behind the team above them, it's not looking good. Here they face title challengers from Billericay who must feel confident of victory as they head down to Ilford. Admission in this 10th-tier division is usually around £7
Lymore Gardens v May & Baker @745pm - currently fourth, the hosts have games in hand on all above them and will go top if they win them. M&B make the short journey over from Dagenham. Although their predicament isn't as bad as Barkingside's, they are in the bottom five and will do well to get anything. Again, admission should be around £7
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday 3 January

National League South
Hampton & Richmond Borough v Chesham United @3pm - Alan Dowson returned as Hampton boss in December and marked his 1,000 game as a manager with a crucial win over Farnborough on Boxing Day. Still in the relegation zone, a win against midtable Chesham could propel them up several places so it's a big opportunity. Tickets
Hornchurch v Salisbury @3pm - after the joy of winning the derby at Dagenham, the Urchins then lost at home to Maidstone as they finally relinquished top spot to Worthing. Now two points behind and having played a game more, they can't afford many more slip ups if they want to stay in title contention. Salisbury are 16th and should be beaten. Tickets

Southern League Premier South
Walton & Hersham v Gosport Borough @3pm - if you're new to football in TLFG's catchment area, the Swans are a club on the rise. Since the ownership of the club changed in 2019, the Surrey side have enjoyed three promotions and narrowly missed out on a fourth one last season. Saturday's derby victory at Chertsey put them 11 points clear at the top and a place in the National League South now looks like theirs to lose. Here they play another club with promotion in their sights. Hailing from Hampshire, Gosport are fifth and need the win to stay ahead of Sholing who are just a point behind. Tickets

Isthmian League South Central
Harrow Borough v Hayes & Yeading United @3pm - in the eighth tier there aren't any blockbuster games at the top of any of the divisions but this derby between two old rivals should be well worth a watch. Boro are on a three game unbeaten run with Saturday's 1-0 win at Hendon in another derby lifting them up to ninth. H&YU occupy the final play-off spot five points above them so a win here will get them right back in the mix. Tickets are £12 on the gate

CCL Premier North
Broadfields United v Wallingford & Crowmarsh @3pm - usually I'd have no hesitation about highlighting a game between the top two in a division but I definitely thought twice about this one. Although they are leading the way, both have played more games than all of those immediately below them and their points advantage is slight - in other words, their positions are a bit false. However, the teams currently in the best form are all well down the table so these two aren't out of it by any means. Tickets are £8 on the gate

CCL Premier South
Tooting & Mitcham United v Abbey Rangers @3pm - given how conflicted I am about the game above, you can have another recommendation in the ninth tier. With Cobham looking increasingly like champions elect, it's now all about who can secure a play-off spot. These two are third and fourth, with the visitors being only two points behind with a game in hand. Tickets are £8 on the gate

Essex Senior League
SOUL Tower Hamlets v Barking @3pm -staying in the ninth tier, I can't really overlook this one either. Being played at the Mile End Stadium, the hosts will go top if they win and current leaders Little Oakley fail to win at Woodford Town. Whether they get the three points is by no means a foregone conclusion though as Barking are fourth. The Blues are five points behind but have played two games more so securing a play-off spot would appear to be their main priority at this stage. Tickets

CCL Division 1
Colliers Wood United v Brook House @3pm - three teams are level on points at the top in this hotly contested division but it's Brook House who are just ahead after winning their big match at fellow contenders PFC Victoria London last Saturday. Having played less games than PFC and third placed Woodley United, things are looking good for The Brook. Midtable CWU aren't in the best of form so the visitors will start as favourites. Tickets at this level are usually £7-8 on the gate
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday 4 January

Premier League
Fulham v Liverpool @3pm - the Cottagers drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace on Thursday to extend their unbeaten run to four games. Now just mathematically one win away from a place in the top six, their fortunes have changed pretty dramatically in recent weeks. Here they face a visit from the reigning Premier League champions. A few weeks ago the Reds seemed to be in crisis but now they're seven without defeat and back in the top four. Despite Liverpool's dominance last season, Marco Silva's side were one of the only teams to take four points off them and on current form they should fancy themselves to get something again. Tickets
Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland @3pm - both sides come into this on the back of midweek 0-0 draws. Spurs took a point at Brentford in the Thomas Frank derby whilst the Mackems did really well to hold title chasing Manchester City. Sunderland have attracted many admirers this season. Fresh up from the Championship, they've more than held their own and find themselves in seventh at the start of 2026. They would no doubt be in the top four if they hadn't drawn so many games, with only leaders Arsenal having lost fewer matches than themselves. Although Tottenham appear to be picking up, they'll do well to win this. Tickets are only available to members but hospitality is available from £249

Championship
QPR v Sheffield Wednesday @12pm - as predicted above, the R's did come unstuck against struggling Norwich on Thursday, underlining once again why they're unlikely to go up this season. Next up they face the Owls who are bottom and pretty much doomed to relegation after being deducted points following their move into administration. With only one win from 24, they really must be beaten. However, they have managed eight draws and one of those was against QPR. Given the early kick-off, groundhoppers should be able to combine this with the match at Fulham. Tickets
Millwall v Swansea City @3pm - although the Lions only managed a 0-0 draw at Southampton, they're still very much in the race for the play-offs. Only goal difference is currently keeping them out of the top six and a win against Swansea will see them break back into the top group. Although way down in 16th, City are in good form and held Millwall to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in September. Tickets

League Two
Barnet v Crewe Alexandra @3pm - the Bees beat Crawley to keep themselves in the top half and extend their unbeaten run to three. With Crewe just above them in the table, they have the opportunity to go ninth if they win. The visitors have never won at The Hive, with their last win at Barnet coming at Underhill in 2009. Tickets
Bromley v Oldham Athletic @3pm - the Ravens narrowly beat struggling Newport 2-1 to remain top of the division at the start of 2026. Boss Andy Woodman is really impressing at Hayes Lane and on paper they should feel confident of getting another three points against Oldham. However, although they are 15th, they're unbeaten in five and beat title challengers Walsall on Monday. Tickets

FAWNL Southern Premier
AFC Wimbledon v Oxford United @2pm - after four weeks off, the Dons women return to action with a match at Plough Lane. It's been a season of struggle for the south Londoners but a 3-2 win over Hashtag United at the end of November saw them keep themselves just above the relegation zone. Oxford have won their last two league games and beat high-flying Plymouth in the FA Cup in their last game so they head to SW17 in some form. Tickets

FAWNL Division 1 South East
Fulham v Actonians @2pm - a little further to the south-west, you've got the chance to watch tier-four leaders Fulham try and extend their slender lead at the top of the division. Although midtable Actonians have a tiny fraction of the resources at the Cottagers' disposal, they only lost 3-2 when they last met in August. The A's are unbeaten in five but with last season's top scorer Hana Lalani joining arch-rivals QPR over Christmas, it'll be almost miraculous if they get anything against the unbeaten Cottagers. This is being played at the club's Motspur Park training ground. Tickets

TLFG: 15-21 December 2025

Greetings one and all and welcome to this week's TLFG.

Sadly it looks like being another minimal effort from me this week as things have continued to be very busy at work and home.

Therefore it's just match maps again but if you have any specific questions please do contact me by email or social media - the details are towards the bottom of this page.

Last week, I managed to get to QPR for the second time this season and I'm glad I did.

Big spending Birmingham City were the visitors on Tuesday night and the two sides put on a keenly contested game.

Rangers scored in the first half and then largely controlled things without threatening too much more themselves.

With the game into its 92 minute, City equalised and looked set to steal a point.

However, young substitute Kieran Morgan then scored with the last kick of the game to win it for the hosts and send Loftus Road into raptures - I haven't been witness to such scenes for a long time!

Harrow Borough saw their fine run in the FA Trophy come to an end at Leatherhead on Saturday. The 3-2 loss at the league leaders was no disgrace at all.

Actonians were set to host current leaders Norwich City on Sunday but the pitch at North Greenford wasn't playable and that's them done until 2026. I did something a bit different with the Actonians' podcast this week, interviewing a current and former player on the same episode primarily because they're good friends.

Although both very impressive young players, one of them has just got top marks at A-level, has moved to Durham University, signed for WSL2 club Durham's U21s and is also on the Premier League's leadership programme - definitely someone to watch. You can give it a listen here.

Non-League Day planning is also ramping up - we had a good meeting with our charity partners Prostate Cancer UK towards the end of the week and I've got another meeting with some of my team today.

I think I mentioned I'm looking into a Bundesliga mini-break next month - a friend who lives in Germany has done something I thought would be very hard and landed us some tickets for Borussia Dortmund so I'm really looking forward to that.

That's about it from me, sorry I don't have more for you in terms of previews but feel free to send any questions. Have a great week and don't have too many mince pies!

THE WEEK AHEAD

Games in the Premier League and Conference League top the bill in the men's game this week but there's plenty of action in the EFL too.

At non-league level, it's a fairly normal week with matches in all our local competitions but thanks to DAZN's unusual pre-Christmas scheduling we have a National League game on Sunday.

In the women's game, most clubs have finished for 2025 but there are a handful of games on Sunday mostly in the Subway Cup.

As always, please make sure you check with clubs before you travel just in case a game has been called off or the venue or kick-off time has changed - this is highly possible for some of the lower non-league clubs and development matches.

TLFG: 8-14 December 2025

Greetings everyone and welcome to this week's TLFG.

I'm really pushed for time so at this stage it's only going to be match maps but I thought that would be better than nothing.

On Monday, Non-League Day did win at the FSA awards which was a huge honour.

Not long after Declan Rice collected his Player of the Year award, I was up on stage with my team collecting ours.

Interviewed by host Victoria Derbyshire, we took turns answering questions in front of the hundreds in attendance which was nerve wracking to say the least.

On Tuesday I went to a Football Beyond Borders event in Kings Cross which was really interesting.

I found out a lot more about the work they do in schools keeping young people on track, trying to make sure they get through their GCSEs at the very least.

My final football action of the week saw me watch Actonians come from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Cambridge United.

We finished with 10 players too so extending the unbeaten run to six games was very pleasing indeed.

Next up for me is QPR's home game against Birmingham City in the Championship on Tuesday.

Right, I think that's about it from me - have a great week.

 THE WEEK AHEAD

Games in the Champions League and Premier League top the bill in the men's game this week but there's plenty of action in the EFL too.

At non-league level, the highlight is the Third Round of the FA Trophy as all the National League teams enter the fray.

In the women's game, there are also Champions League games in midweek whilst it's the Third Round of the Women's FA Cup on Sunday too.

As always, please make sure you check with clubs before you travel just in case a game has been called off or the venue or kick-off time has changed - this is highly possible for some of the lower non-league clubs and development matches. Also, please let me know if anything is wrong or missing.

TLFG: 1-7 December 2025

Greetings one and all and welcome to the first TLFG of December - it seems no time since the season openers in August!

How has your week been?

In football terms, I've had a pretty eventful one.

On Monday, my Non-League Day adventures took me to the prestigious art college Central St Martins which is now based in Kings Cross in a very cool restored granary building - you'd expect nothing less.

I was invited by student Maxine R who's making a film on the changing football culture in this country and wanted my views from a non-league perspective.

Her story is really interesting, having moved from Singapore, she's got really into the non-league scene in north London and regularly watches games at clubs like Enfield Town, Haringey Borough and Walthamstow - I looked forward to the finished piece.

Non-League Day is up for an award on Monday

On Tuesday, myself and members of the Non-League Day team had our first planning meeting of the campaign with our friends at the Premier League.

They came up with some very positive suggestions as we look to make our 15th event the biggest yet.

Talking of Non-League Day, we're up for a gong at the FSA Awards in London tonight (Monday).

Hosted by Victoria Derbyshire, a lot of big names are up for recognition in lots of categories so there could be some really interesting people in attendance.

I'll let you know next week how we get on.

When it came to actually watching a game, I headed to Champion Hill on Sunday to see Actonians grind out a 1-0 win over Dulwich Hamlet.

Now unbeaten in five, the A's are into the top six for the first time this season.

Weirdly, they've only managed one point at home in the league this season with all five wins coming on the road.

Hopefully that first home win will come on Sunday when Cambridge United pay us a visit.

THE WEEK AHEAD

The Premier League tops the bill this week but it's closely followed by some ties in the Second Round of the FA Cup.

Aside from a selection of games in the EFL, we also have the next round of the FA Vase and plenty of games in all the other non-league divisions TLFG covers.

In the women's game, the highlight would appear to be the Women's Super League game between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates at midday on Saturday, giving you the chance of seeing two games that day.

As always, please make sure you check with clubs before you travel just in case a game has been called off or the venue or kick-off time has changed - this is highly possible for some of the lower non-league clubs and development matches. Also, please let me know if anything is wrong or missing.

TLFG DAILY DIGEST
In the following section, I list what are in my opinion the most notable games of the week and give some brief reasons for my choice. Check the maps above for kick-off times, ticket info and directions.

Monday 1 December

Isthmian League Cup Fourth Round
Aveley v Redbridge @745pm - the Millers held Essex rivals Brentwood Town to a 3-3 draw on Friday to end the weekend fifth in the seventh tier Isthmian Premier. The Motormen play a level below the hosts but are in the top six in their division and having a good season. On paper, Aveley should win but will they field a full-strength side? Admission is £10 on the gate

ECL Division 1 South
Lymore Gardens v AS London @745pm - the home team are playing in the tenth tier for the first time following their promotion last season. They were top earlier in the campaign but are now sixth. However, they have the games in hand to potentially put them top again. AS London challenged for promotion in 2024/25 but they've yet to recapture that form and are in the bottom five. I haven't seen any admission prices but it's usually around £7 at this level

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuesday 2 December

Premier League
Fulham v Manchester City @730pm - the Cottagers made it three wins from four as they triumphed 2-1 at Spurs on Saturday night. Although still only 15th, they've opened a six-point gap between themselves and the bottom three. City arrive at Craven Cottage on the back of a shaky 3-2 win over struggling Leeds United but it was enough to elevate them to second. To say the Mancunian club are a bogey side for Fulham would be an understatement - City are unbeaten in 24 matches against them and have won all of the last 18! Tickets

EFL Trophy Second Round
Leyton Orient v Plymouth Argyle @7pm - after cruising through their group with a 100% record, the O's were seeded for the draw in this first knockout round. Devon club Plymouth managed wins over Cheltenham Town and Tottenham Hostpur U21s on their way to this stage. Tickets

U21 & Development Matches
Several pro clubs have U21 sides in action in various competitions on Tuesday. Charlton Athletic play Preston North End at Dartford's ground in the Premier League Cup at 7pm. Boreham Wood welcome a young side from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the National League Cup, also at 7pm. Lastly, QPR U21s travel to Cray Valley PM in the London Senior Cup at 745pm. Tickets vary in price so check with each club for details

National League South
Hampton & Richmond Borough v AFC Totton @745pm - these two are the most out of form teams in the division. This has seen the Beavers plummet into the bottom three while Totton's collapse has seen them fall to 10th and out of title contention. Who will get their act together first? Head to the Beveree to find out. Tickets

Southern League Premier South
Hanwell Town v Farnham Town @745pm - with only one win from five, the Geordies find themselves only two points above the relegation zone but they have games in hand on pretty much everyone in what is a very congested lower half of the table. A lot was expected of newly promoted Farnham at the beginning of the campaign. With a large budget, many thought they would be title challengers or even stroll through the division. Although they have two games in hand and are very much in play-off contention, they're currently 15 points behind leaders Walton & Hersham so can't afford too many more defeats. Tickets

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday 3 December

Premier League
Arsenal v Brentford @730pm - the Gunners only managed a 1-1 draw against the 10 men of Chelsea on Sunday to see their lead at the top cut to five points by Manchester City. Next up they face a Brentford side who are in a decent bit of form with four wins from six. The Bees have drawn two of their last three at the Emirates and with Igor Thiago second in the Premier League scoring charts, they've got a chance of causing Arsenal some more problems. Tickets are only available to members but hospitality is available from £327

Premier League International Cup
Wednesday sees the next batch of games in this U21 competition which sees Premier League clubs host teams from around Europe. Topping the bill is the game at Kingsmeadow between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (tickets are £4). In the other game, West Ham United welcome Athletic Bilbao to Dagenham & Redbridge (tickets shouldn't exceed £5). Both games kick-off at 7pm

Premier League Cup
Luton Town v Exeter City @7pm - randomly, the Hatters are playing this U21 game at Enfield Town's ground in north London. The Bedfordshire club are bottom of their group after losing every game and defeat here will see them eliminated. Tickets should be available on the gate for around £5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday 5 December

FA Youth Cup Third Round
The pick of the action on Friday would seem to be the two ties taking place in the country's most prestigious U18 competition. All the big clubs' youngsters join the draw at this stage. In the earlier tie at 6pm, Crystal Palace host Bradford City at Selhurst Park (tickets). Arguably the tie of the night starts at 7pm at The Den where Millwall take on Everton (tickets)

Essex Senior League
Woodford Town v Great Wakering Rovers @745pm - the best non-league option is this game at Ashtons in north-east London. At the time of writing, the hosts are four points behind the leaders in third but have played a game more. Coming up against them are 2024 FA Vase finalists GWR who are eighth and capable of giving them some problems. Admission is £7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday 6 December

Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur v Brentford @3pm - earlier in the season, Spurs were in the top four and most people seemed to be impressed with what new boss Thomas Frank was doing. Now without a win in the Premier League since October, they're down to 11th and on level points with the Bees, Frank's former club. It's a huge day for the Danish manager as he goes up against his former charges. While working at the GTech, his sides upset many of the top clubs but they always struggled against Tottenham, only beating them once in eight attempts. Tickets are only available to members but hospitality is available from £299

Women's Super League
Arsenal v Liverpool @12pm - elsewhere in north London, a good few thousand should be found at the Emirates for this WSL clash. After winning the Champions League last season, many would have expected the Gunners to challenge for the league title this season but it doesn't look likely. As we near the half-way point, they're fourth and eight points behind leaders Manchester City which in a division with only 22 games is an almost insurmountable lead. The Reds are winless and bottom. They have drawn the last two games though, as signs of improvement have emerged. Tickets

Championship
Charlton Athletic v Portsmouth @1230pm - back in the men's game, it's a big day in the second tier where we have three interesting games to choose from. First up we have this early game between the Addicks and Pompey. Nathan Jones' side were challenging for a play-off place recently but consistency is everything in this division and four consecutive defeats have seen them slip all the way down to 17th in quick time. The good news is that the table is incredibly tight so a win could easily propel them three or four places back up. With four wins from 18, the visitors are stuck in the bottom three and in real need of three points. Their recent record against Charlton is poor so they might have to wait another week for that elusive victory. Tickets
Watford v Norwich City @1230pm - there's another lunchtime game in Hertfordshire where the Hornets will look to bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Birmingham City. On paper, their chances of a victory look good as the Canaries have been pretty woeful this season. Second from bottom with only 13 points from 18 games, they have not impressed but they did manage to beat QPR last week to record their first home win. Tickets
QPR v West Bromwich Albion @3pm - lastly, over in west London, two midtable clubs who are locked together on 25 points meet at Loftus Road for what should be a well-contested match. The Baggies have become a bit of a bogey team for the R's in recent seasons and are currently six games unbeaten against them. Tickets

FA Cup Second Round
Sutton United v Shrewsbury Town @515pm - the U's have had a poor season but somehow they're one of the few non-league teams to have made it this far. It shouldn't really come as a surprise though as they are one of the most successful non-league teams in FA Cup history. They've been to at least the Third Round on six occasions and went all the way to Fifth Round in 2017. Here they play League Two strugglers Shrewsbury who could be there for the taking. The winners will go into the draw alongside all the Premier League clubs in the next round so the stakes are high. Tickets

National League South
Enfield Town v Hampton & Richmond Borough @745pm - in the sixth tier we've got a big relegation six-pointer at Donkey Lane. The Towners have accrued an impressive seven points from their last three games to haul themselves out of the bottom four so should approach this match with some confidence. Hampton were rock bottom of the form table after losing 6-0 to fellow strugglers Eastbourne Borough last weekend. On Sunday, manager Alan Julian departed and Alan Massey took over in time for Tuesday's game against AFC Totton. They won 2-0 and are now one place and one point above Enfield - it should be close. Tickets

Southern League Premier South
Uxbridge v Walton & Hersham @3pm - game of the day in the seventh tier for me sees the Reds welcome the league leaders. The hosts are playing at this level for the first time in their long history after promotion last season and are doing really well. Currently eighth, a play-off push is well within their capabilities. The Swans, on the other hand, missed out in the play-offs last season and seem keen to go up as champions this time. Eight points clear after 19 games, it's looking good. Tickets are a very reasonable £8 which is way lower than most clubs at this level

Isthmian League North
Redbridge v Felixstowe & Walton United @3pm - there are several tasty looking games in the eighth tier on Saturday but this my pick as if you add the league places together, this comes out with the lowest number. The Motormen are sixth whilst the visitors are top. However, Felixstowe suffered a spectacular 7-2 home defeat to Waltham Abbey in their last match so this could be a great time for Redbridge to play them. Admission is £10 on the gate

FA Vase Third Round
The national knockout competition for clubs in the ninth and tenth tiers with its final at Wembley is down to its last 64 teams. At this stage, the draw is still regionalised and we have two ties in London:

Cockfosters v SOUL Tower Hamlets @3pm - the pick of the ties for me sees title contenders from the SSML and ESL meet at Chalk Lane in north London. For the hosts, this is the furthest they've been in the competition whilst STH made it all the way to the Fifth Round in 2012 when they were known as Bethnal Green United. Ticket prices seem to be top secret but it shouldn't be more than £10
Fisher v Fleet Town @3pm - in Rotherhithe, the Fish are another club on a record-breaking run in this competition with their win over fellow ninth-tier club Balham getting them this far. Although 12th in the SCEFL Premier, they have games in hand so should be able to get into the play-off race like Hampshire club Fleet who are doing well in the CCL Premier South. Again we should have another pretty even contest here. Tickets are £8 on the gate

CCL Premier South
Cobham v Tooting & Mitcham United @3pm - away from the knockout football above, the MOTD in the ninth tier is definitely this one. A top-two clash, it represents one of the Terrors' last main chances of catching the Hammers who are 10 points clear and looking really strong. Tickets are £8 on the gate

SSML Division 1
Everett Rovers v Long Buckby AFC @3pm - in the tenth tier we're back on Everett Rovers watch and whether or not their unbeaten record will remain intact. Promoted to this level for the first time, they've taken to this division like ducks to water. With 16 wins and one draw, they're 10 points clear of a team they've already beaten so they look untouchable. Visitors Long Bucky are in midtable and have already been defeated once this season. Tickets should be no more than £8

Southern Amateur League
Honourable Artillery Company v Wandsworth Borough @1pm - for the groundhoppers among you, there's another chance to watch a game at Armoury House in the City of London. A short walk from Old Street and Moorgate stations, this is one of the most unique football experiences in the capital. To attend, you need to message the club via one of its social media accounts and they'll put you on a guest list
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday 7 December

Premier League
Fulham v Crystal Palace @430pm - with the sun almost completely descended behind the Riverside Stand, it's time for derby day on the banks of the Thames. Similar sized clubs, it's the visitors who are enjoying a breakthrough period of success right now. Winning last season's FA Cup, this season's Community Shield and in the top five in the Premier League after 14 games, it's going pretty well. Although the Cottagers' promising run of results came to an end against Manchester City on Tuesday, they put in aa hell of a performance in a highly entertaining 5-4 defeat. In theory, the Eagles should win, something which is further backed up by the fact they haven't lost here in over 20 years. Tickets

FA Cup Second Round
Boreham Wood v Newport County @230pm - in the other tie of the weekend, National League title contenders Boreham Wood go after another EFL scalp. Like Sutton, The Wood have had some great times in this competition, also making the Fifth Round in 2022. In Newport, they have an even better chance than Sutton of making progress as the Welsh club are bottom of League Two and presumably low on confidence - there's real cupset potential here. Tickets

Women's Super League
London City Lionesses v Brighton & Hove Albion @12pm - if you want to do a double on Sunday then it should be possible if you watch one of the women's midday kick-offs before heading west for the Fulham game. Here, the teams in sixth and seventh face off at Bromley's ground. After a shaky start, LCL have found their feet and could climb all the way up to third if they win and a sensational set of results go their way over the weekend. Tickets
Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa @12pm - Spurs have made a better start than many would've expected and head into the weekend in fifth, just a point adrift of the Champions League places. Villa are down in eighth but with only one defeat in six, should be tough to beat. This is being played at Leyton Orient. Tickets
Chelsea v Everton @230pm - the Blues made a blistering start and looked like they were going to stroll to another WSL title. However, in recent games they've started to stumble and have drawn three matches. Despite beating Manchester City in their opening game, they've now been overtaken by them and are three points behind in second. The Toffees looked great in their opening game as they beat Liverpool in the Merseyside derby but to put that in context, that was their last win and the Reds have yet to win. Everton will need to park the bus to get anything from this trip to Kingsmeadow. Tickets

Women's Super League 2
Crystal Palace v Birmingham City @2pm - the Eagles' brief stint in the WSL last season seems like a lifetime ago as their transition to life back in the second tier has not gone well. With only two wins from nine, they won't be making a return to the top flight any time soon. The Blues finished as runners-up last season and are second again coming into this so should start as favourites. This is being played at Sutton United. Tickets

FAWNL Southern Premier
Watford v Lewes @2pm - after another late change of venue, the table-topping Hornets are playing this at Uxbridge. The Rooks are down in eighth and should be beaten and they need to be as nearest challengers AFC Bournemouth are playing bottom club Billericay and look certain to pick up three points. Tickets
Hashtag United v Plymouth Argyle @3pm - just as the Tags looked like they might be moving into a secure midtable spot, they lost to struggling AFC Wimbledon and now they find themselves back in the dogfight to stay up. After becoming almost permanent members of the bottom four in recent years, the Pilgrims are having a cracking campaign and could second with a win. Tickets are £5 on the gate

FAWNL Division 1 South East
London Bees v QPR @2pm - the biggest game of the day in the fourth tier is this derby between the teams in third and fourth. The R's are unbeaten in five in the league and come into this in better form. Bees suffered a 5-0 humbling at leaders Fulham last week and boss Dan McKimm will be looking for a strong response. It'll probably end goalless. This is being played at The Hive complex in north London. Tickets
Actonians v Cambridge United @230pm - the A's extended their unbeaten run to five games with a win at Dulwich on Sunday to lift them above Cambridge and into the top half for the first time this season. Neck-and-neck in the table, games between these two rarely end in a draw and usually produce quite a few goals - 19 have come in the last three installments of this fixture. Update - this has been moved to the Middlesex FA's HQ in Rectory Park, Northolt. Tickets
