Greetings one and all and welcome to this week's TLFG.
Sadly it looks like being another minimal effort from me this week as things have continued to be very busy at work and home.
Therefore it's just match maps again but if you have any specific questions please do contact me by email or social media - the details are towards the bottom of this page.
Last week, I managed to get to QPR for the second time this season and I'm glad I did.
Big spending Birmingham City were the visitors on Tuesday night and the two sides put on a keenly contested game.
Rangers scored in the first half and then largely controlled things without threatening too much more themselves.
With the game into its 92 minute, City equalised and looked set to steal a point.
However, young substitute Kieran Morgan then scored with the last kick of the game to win it for the hosts and send Loftus Road into raptures - I haven't been witness to such scenes for a long time!
Harrow Borough saw their fine run in the FA Trophy come to an end at Leatherhead on Saturday. The 3-2 loss at the league leaders was no disgrace at all.
Actonians were set to host current leaders Norwich City on Sunday but the pitch at North Greenford wasn't playable and that's them done until 2026. I did something a bit different with the Actonians' podcast this week, interviewing a current and former player on the same episode primarily because they're good friends.
Although both very impressive young players, one of them has just got top marks at A-level, has moved to Durham University, signed for WSL2 club Durham's U21s and is also on the Premier League's leadership programme - definitely someone to watch. You can give it a listen here.
Non-League Day planning is also ramping up - we had a good meeting with our charity partners Prostate Cancer UK towards the end of the week and I've got another meeting with some of my team today.
I think I mentioned I'm looking into a Bundesliga mini-break next month - a friend who lives in Germany has done something I thought would be very hard and landed us some tickets for Borussia Dortmund so I'm really looking forward to that.
That's about it from me, sorry I don't have more for you in terms of previews but feel free to send any questions. Have a great week and don't have too many mince pies!
THE WEEK AHEAD
Games in the Premier League and Conference League top the bill in the men's game this week but there's plenty of action in the EFL too.
At non-league level, it's a fairly normal week with matches in all our local competitions but thanks to DAZN's unusual pre-Christmas scheduling we have a National League game on Sunday.
In the women's game, most clubs have finished for 2025 but there are a handful of games on Sunday mostly in the Subway Cup.
As always, please make sure you check with clubs before you travel just in case a game has been called off or the venue or kick-off time has changed - this is highly possible for some of the lower non-league clubs and development matches. Also, please let me know if anything is wrong or missing.
